Advanced Swiftwater Technician -Whitewater Rescue Institute

Pre-Requisites: 1 Re-certification of Swiftwater Tech (no less than 3 years of experience)

                               Documented River Use (Trainings, Rescues, river miles, etc.)

                               Good physical Health and swimming ability

                               18 years of age

 The class is being taught by Whitewater Rescue Institute out of Missoula and is 24 hours in length.  Required equipment is that of a normal Swiftwater tech class (dry suit, PFD, helmet, etc.).  This is a 24-hour course.  Cost is $425.00 per student, and agencies will be responsible for payment to WRI directly.  Please contact Chief Deputy Williams to reserve a spot in the class, or with any questions.

Build on your Wilderness Advanced First Aid (WAFA) skills to transition to the scope of practice and competency of a Wilderness First Responder (WFR). This course must be taken within three years of WAFA certification to qualify.
