The Search and Rescue Subcommittee is part of the Montana Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association.  The purpose of the subcommittee is to connect local Search and Rescue teams on a statewide basis to provide the opportunity for networking, relationship building, training as well as the mechanism to evaluate and approve SAR reimbursement requests.  The Search and Rescue subcommittee holds quarterly meetings in which all SAR mission, training, and equipment reimbursement requests are reviewed, evaluated, and approved, denied, or modified.

The Search and Rescue subcommittee is inclusive of all authorized Search and Rescue teams in Montana and has participation from both Sheriff’s Office agency team members and volunteer team members.

This subcommittee is the opportunity to discuss challenges in Search and Rescue and identify solutions.

Chair of the subcommittee is Captain Matt Boxmeyer (Gallatin County SO, SAR Commander)

Vice Chair of the subcommittee is Captain Scott Van Dyken (Cascade County SO, MSPOA President)
